Appica.com completes launch of cloud servers offering

Appica has successfully exited cloud beta and launched into production on January 1, 2011.

Appica provides computing servers (CPU, RAM) and SAN storage on demand. With Appica you can simplify the provisioning of new servers and storage to a 5 minute process via a web management platform. Gone are the days of procurement, rack and stack, OS installation, hardware break-fix, and configuration.

The Appica portal enables users to select the amount of CPU, RAM, and storage required for the server and create the instance. Once enabled, users can configure firewall rules, load balancing, and data protection. Customers have full root and administrator access to control and manage their server instances.

“We performed very well during our customer beta and have many customers operating production systems including web application, corporate web, ERP, and corporate Sharepoint, and 3D rendering infrastructure in Appica’s cloud,” said Aaron Larkins. “Our clients and partners don’t want to manage a complex virtualization process that is costly and difficult to manage. With Appica, our customers can deploy servers and storage in minutes compared to in-house projects that take days or months.”

Appica includes a redundant architecture meaning there are no single points of failure at any layer of the solution. Appica uses up to three storage pools to protect customer data including a primary SAN for customer data, a secondary SAN for customer snapshots, and a third storage pool for customer backup managed via a continuous data protection system. With Appica, every server is guaranteed resources and failover capacity to ensure your applications are available when you need them.

Appica is hosting webinars including a March 2 and March 16 review of our cloud services. If you would like to setup an executive demo for your company please call 800.556.1369 or complete the contract form on the right.
